For a while, Volvo has been committed to reaching its goal of an all-electric future by 2030. They've crafted something special on the road to that goal - the new Volvo EX30. The EX30 will be the second model with the EX name and Volvo's smallest EV. If you wish to learn more about this upcoming model, keep reading as we discuss what's offered.

Highlights of the Volvo EX30

Two powertrains will be released with the EX30, both of which will utilize a 64.0-kWh battery pack. The Single Motor Extended Range setup features a rear-mounted electric motor, 268 horsepower, and the best range at 275 miles. The other engine is the Extended Range model, which offers less range at 265 miles but performs better as it has two electric motors on each axle for all-wheel drive and 422 horsepower.

Enter the cabin, and you'll discover the interior is designed with comfort in mind. Throughout, elegant craftsmanship offers a refined driving experience. To enhance that experience is a slew of great tech as well. There's a vertically oriented 12.3-inch display with an updated version of Volvo's Google-based interface and Google Maps for navigation. There's also a unique sound system that replaces traditional speakers with a soundbar across the base of the dashboard.

Not only is the EX30 well-designed, but it's also quite safe to drive. Standard features include automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Unique to the EX30 is a new door-open alert system that will warn you if a cyclist or other vehicle is approaching the EX30's doors.
